Happy New Year everyone!
Many of you have been asking for this, we are glad to start the new year and end the last with the release of my version of No Surprises available now on iTunes!

Today is a very special day! It’s 11/11/11 and the stars have said any “project started today will be very successful”. I hope they are right! We are tracking “No Surprises” at Coldwater Studio today with Kerry Brown, and I have really fallen in love with this song. It’s become such a part of me. I want to thank Nicole Scherzinger for giving me such a great gift. Not only is it a well written song but it is so reflective of our current social climate. Everyone can relate to it’s timeless message! I hope that those suffering will find release through this dark lullaby.

Christa, I'm watching the X factor as we speak and felt compelled to write to you after seeing that nicole did not choose you for her top 4. I don't like to spread negativity towards others, but I just wanted to say that I am seriously pissed off at how it turned out. I think you are fantastic and I would buy your album without hesitation. Radiohead is one of my favorite bands and your rendition of No Surprises brought me to tears. Keep moving forward. Don't let the bastards get you down <3

“Christa Collins came out of nowhere in this episode with a phenomenal version of Radiohead’s “No Surprises.” She has slipped through the first few rounds, but last night it became clear how she had made it this far. She has a tall vocal range, can both belt and quietly serenade, and she connected emotionally with the song and the audience.”
I want to clarify a few points that are really important to me because they chopped up my statements in tonights Judges House episode and created a story that couldn’t be further from the truth.
In fact what was presented to you was a chop job of 5 different interviews and the way they edited it together is an outrageous misrepresentation!
1) I talk about the “2 mins. of glory and the rest being 10-18 hrs of grueling labor…”, which is true. The part they cut out is “…but I loved every minute of it and wouldn’t want to do anything else.”
2) I did not quit when I was 16 because I didn’t like hard work. I was “released” out of my contract by Disney after my mom was killed on a Disney promo tour. Yes, It was too hard to continue working because my mother had died and I was left in an abusive home with no support system to continue working.
3) At the end of my performance when I speak about “…this is my second chance and I am here for myself because this is the only place I feel completely whole as a human being” What they cut is: “…and I am here in honor of my mother who gave me the strength to pursue my dreams!”
It’s important to me that these things are known. This is the truth of what I said and it was from my heart. Thank you for listening.CC
